HURITOOLS 1.2: Tools and Techniques for Human Rights Monitoring, Documentation, and Information Handling

The HURITOOLS CD-ROM is a collection of "best practice" tools and techniques for the human rights community. The tools were developed through a continuous participatory process with human rights practioners worldwide.

The main tools consist of standard formats, the first of which is the Bibliographic Standard Formats for use in library documentation. Another set of standard formats, the Events Standard Formats, was developed to respond to the needs of organizations that undertake investigation and recording of information on human rights violations.

Most of the tools have been developed through the creation of task forces or working groups made up of people with expertise on a specific tool or technique.
