Research Directions 2004-2006
In January 2003, as part of the preparations for a new Three-Year Rolling Work Plan, ADBI embarked upon a practical approach to reassessing its research strategy.
It was decided that the research program needed to be responsive to the needs of key ADBI stakeholders, with an eye to what the Institute could do well bearing in mind the expertise of ADBI staff.
In identifying the main areas to guide its future directions, it was also borne in mind that a key mandate of the Institute is to conduct work of strategic interest to ADB, the Asia-Pacific region as a whole, and its developing member governments. The new approach also led to a change of emphasis in our research studies and publication types.
This document provides a comprehensive overview of present and future directions for ADBI's research work.
