Review Summary

This CD-ROM is a collection of over 500 PowerPoint slides arranged into four training modules. It is part of FAO's Land and Water Digital Media Series.* It gives a complete introduction to water harvesting; from the presentation of various water-harvesting techniques to the details of project management in small communities. The information comes from water harvesting project experiences around the world in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Users may then design and create a water harvesting system taking those various experiences into account.

To ensure practical applications of this training material, FAO recommends the training modules be combined with practical exercises, presentations of local field experiences, and available results from local research centers, field trips, and video projections. A comprehensive plan on how to integrate the material into a two-week training program is provided as part of the CD-ROM.
