Result-Based Management in the National Planning Process Nepal

The Government of Nepal has introduced results-based management in its national planning process. The introduction of the medium term expenditure framework (MTEF) has contributed to realistic priority setting and resource estimation.

In addition, the national planning process has been linked to the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper process. As a result, expenditure in the social sector and the amount of budget allocation per project have increased. Furthermore, the poverty monitoring and analysis system has supported the national planning process by providing project monitoring.
