The Hub Ports Development Strategies in East Asia - From the perspective of Global Logistics - Presentation

Mariner Wang's presentation dealt with four main objectives:

  1. to explain the importance of logistics in the borderless age,
  2. To clarify transportation infrastructure contributing to efficient logistics,
  3. to delineate the role of the private sector in infrastructure development and lastly,
  4. to illustrate the changing logistics in East Asia.

According to the presentation, there is currently a rapid expansion in world trading that is due in part to the developments in the IT industry as applied to the navigation industry. Global logistics is continually diversifying to meet the needs of its customers. In turn, intermodal transport and intermodal couriers are diversifying to satisfy the needs of shippers. This has shaped the advent of an era in which borders have lost all meaning.
