Organic Agriculture and Poverty Reduction: Climate Change and the MDGs
Organic agriculture is receiving worldwide attention as an effective private-sector-led strategy for climate change, poverty reduction, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal. The lack of empirical evidence on pathways and magnitude of impacts on the poor, however, has hinder policy formulation to support the sector. This presentation highlights some of the key findings from ADBI's research program and recommendations on roles of the public sector to support the organic agriculture sector.
This presentation was made at the IFOAM World Organic Congress 2008: Cultivate the Future, 16-20 June 2008, Modena, Italy.
