Purpose
The purposes of the conference are:
- to discuss the need of Asia to rebalance and diversify sources of trans-Pacific growth through supply and demand-side structural reforms, pursuing inclusive growth by raising the quality of life, promoting sustainable development by ensuring friendly and green environment especially for rapidly growing emerging economies, further strengthening of regional cooperation with appropriate financial supervision and regulation; and
- to disseminate the key findings and policy recommendations of the ADB-ADBI book, "Rebalancing for Sustainable Growth: Asia's Postcrisis Challenge".
Objectives
The objective of the conference is to provide a forum for PECC members to discuss issues relevant to Asia's postcrisis agenda. The main areas to be discussed in the meeting will include, among others, the following:
- Raising quality of life and inclusive growth for Asians;
- Rebalancing for sustainable growth;
- Financial deepening and integration in Asia
- Regional cooperation and architecture
Outputs
The outputs are:
- conference proceedings which will be jointly published by SINCPEC, PECC and;
- Participants' comments on the key findings and policy recommendations of the above-mentioned book.
