Seminar by Rajat Kathuria: India's Growth and the Need for Reform
ADBI's Seminar Series brings eminent persons to ADBI to encourage debate among policymakers, researchers, academics, think tanks, and other audiences interested in economic development challenges in the Asia and Pacific region.
Rajat Kathuria is director and chief executive at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations based in Delhi, India. He has an undergraduate degree in economics from St. Stephens College, a master's degree from Delhi School of Economics, and a PhD degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
India's growth is in need of a shot in the arm after its worst performance in a decade. In 2012 to 2013, GDP grew at a rate of 4.5%. This seminar will analyze recent macro-economic trends and discuss reforms needed to realize growth rates similar to those witnessed for most of the last decade.
