Corporate Governance of Banks in Asia – Second Seminar

Background

This seminar follows on from our June 2004 seminar. It will discuss the revised country papers from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand that incorporate the extensive Corporate Governance of Banks survey conducted in each country.

Other presentations and discussions will include papers, largely based on the survey, on specific themes such as:

• financial safety nets and bank governance,
• market discipline in bank regulation and governance,
• effectiveness of bank boards,
• compensation for bank executives and directors, and
• risk management practices at banks.
