Japan Fund for Public Policy Training

The Public Policy Training Program (PPTP) is an ADB regional technical assistance.* The overall goal of PPTP is to build the public policy management capability of mid-career government officials through executive training programs. Training to meet the specialized needs of ministries and agencies will also be undertaken. Courses will cover a wide range of public policy issues relating to government objectives of moving to a market economy under the rule of law that is increasingly integrated with the world economy. Developing the analytical skills in planning and implementing public economic policy will be a core focus.

On October 14 2005, ADB's Board of Directors approved the transfer of management responsibility of the Japan Fund for Public Policy Training from ADBI to ADB's Mekong Department. The transfer has been undertaken to mainstream the implementation of JFPPT pilot activities in Viet Nam and other transitional economies in the Mekong region. For further information please contact ADB's Public Policy Program office in Hanoi.
