Welcome Remarks by Masahiro Kawai at Multilateralizing Asian Regionalism Conference

ADBI Dean Masahiro Kawai gave the welcome remarks at a high-level, joint conference on Multilateralizing Asian Regionalism. He discussed foreign direct investment's influence on Asia's expanding regionalism over the last 25 years. He also discussed how Asian regionalism has given rise to the "noodle bowl" of free trade agreements Asia now has, proposals to minimize the harmful "noodle bowl" effect, and useful lessons from the Americas and Europe for Asian regionalism.
