Center for Economic Research

Center for Economic Research (CER) ^* is an independent non-profit research institution established in April 1999 with assistance from the United Nations Development Program. Structural components of the Center have been created and developed with assistance of international development institutions. The Center aims at providing policy advice to the Government of Uzbekistan and conducting research for other development institutions on key development issues; contributing to the national capacity building and raising public awareness of socio-economic issues.

To create an environment where new constructive ideas and concepts could be transferred into sound development policies and which provides an open and meaningful dialogue and contributes to reaching nationwide consensus on development perspectives.

• Encourage pro-active dialogue, provoking public discussions on development issues;
• Inform and influence policy and decision makers and other development partners via providing policy advice/analysis and independent expertise;
• Advocate and contribute to the national capacity building;
• Piloting and introducing best practices.
